Welcome to Vortex ("we," "our," or "us"), a temporary email service available at vortex.skyfall.dev. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service. Please read this privacy policy carefully. By using Vortex, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2.1 Email Content
We collect and store emails received through our temporary email addresses. These emails, including all content and attachments, are stored on our servers indefinitely until manually deleted by you.
2.2 Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you access or use Vortex, including:
- IP address
- Browser type
- Device information
- Pages visited
- Time and date of your visit
- Time spent on pages
- Referring website addresses
This usage data is retained for a minimum of 2 years.
2.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use self-hosted Umami analytics to collect anonymized usage data about our service.

We may use the information we collect for various purposes, including to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our service
- Monitor the usage of our service
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
- Provide customer support
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Retention
As stated above, we retain emails indefinitely until you choose to delete them manually from our system. You have control over the removal of your email data at any time through the "Clear all emails" button in the user interface.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to emails requires knowledge of the randomly generated email username and domain. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Third-Party Services
We share limited information with the following third parties:
- IP addresses with Hetzner Online GmbH (for our self-hosted Umami analytics)
- Referrer information with Brandfetch (when showing brand logos for emails) - images are hotlinked to their Logo Link API
- Our site uses Vercel for hosting
These third parties have access to your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. Specifically, data may be transferred to Finland, United Kingdom, and United States.
If you are located outside these countries and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data to these countries and process it there.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
8. Children's Privacy
Our service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.

While we do not intentionally collect or process special categories of personal data (such as health information, biometric data, etc.), our service may store such information if it is included in emails received through our temporary email addresses. We prohibit the use of our service for sharing sensitive personal information.
10. User Rights
While we do not maintain logs that would allow us to respond to data subject access requests or provide data exports under GDPR, you retain full control over your email data and can delete all stored emails at any time using the "Clear all emails" button in our user interface.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
